Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Ramesh Bidhuri, who found himself at the center of extreme criticism when he used a communal slur against Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) MP Danish Ali during an ongoing session in the Lok Sabha, has now been given a key responsibility received in the upcoming crucial Rajasthan Assembly elections.
According to media reports, Bidhuri has been appointed election chief of Tonk constituency in Rajasthan. Tonk is mainly the stronghold of Congress leader Sachin Pilot. However, the Congress is yet to release their list of candidates but speculations are rife that Pilot will contest the Rajasthan Assembly elections from Tonk.
The elections to the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly are expected to be held in or before November this year to elect representatives to the 200-member House. The Rajasthan Assembly polls are one of the litmus tests that the opposition INDIA bloc will face along with the BJP as opposition, ahead of the crucial 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
The previous parliamentary elections in Rajasthan took place in December 2018. After the elections, the Indian National Congress formed the state government, with Ashok Gehlot becoming Chief Minister.

The Indian National Congress had become the largest party with 100 seats, less than a 1-seat majority. The BJP won 73 seats, much less compared to the previous elections in which it secured an absolute majority of 163 seats.
The Indian National Congress formed the government together with the BSP.
Despite apparent rifts in the Rajasthan BJP between former Prime Minister Vasundhara Raje and her loyalists, and the BJP’s central leadership with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the helm, the saffron camp looks set to regain power to boost confidence in their prospect of a third place finish. to recover. outright victory for the upcoming Lok Sabha Polls.

Bidhuri’s derogatory remarks about BSP MP Danish Ali during a discussion on the success of the Chandrayaan-3 moon mission in the Lok Sabha last week have created a furor, with Opposition leaders calling for strict action against the BJP MP.
On Friday, Ali had written a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, demanding that the issue of Bidhuri using foul language in the House of Representatives be referred to the privileges committee. Ali had immediately requested an investigation into the matter.
Several members of Congress, TMC and NCP, among others, have written to Birla seeking strictest action against Bidhuri.
