Delhi Capitals' batters came out on a mission against Mumbai Indians on Saturday and reaped rich rewards in the IPL 2024 match. Jake Fraser-McGurk continued his red-hot form while Tristan Stubbs and Shai Shope provided good support. As a result, DC recorded a mammoth total of 257/4 in 20 overs. Though the match was close, MI were restricted to 247/9 in 20 overs. The result ensured that DC climbed to fifth place in the points table.
DC dropped their star opener Prithvi Shaw before the match. The overlooked India star was not in the best of form during the IPL 2024. In seven matches, he scored just 185 at an average of 26.43 and a strike-rate of 162.28. Before the match, Shaw was seen in an animated conversation with Delhi coach Rocky Ponting and this has fueled speculation that all is not well.

Shaw recently opened his comeback. “I don't know about this year, but every IPL they expect me to hit every ball. I don't look at it as pressure, I just try to go out there, take it as a challenge and do my best. felt good to play white ball cricket after so long. After coming back from injury the hunger is there to score runs, middle the balls. IPL is one such game. Today I tried to play smart because we don't have any got an ideal start so I tried to solve it,” Shaw said in a video posted by IPL.
