“This was a 14.4 ball from natarajan to jitesh. It was clearly a six but was given as a 4. The umpires didn't even check it thoroughly. What's the point of smart replays @IPL if these mistakes happen. Raise your voice @realpreityzinta @imohitburman @PunjabKingsIPL,” wrote the user named @AbhishikthBds. The person also presented two photos taken from an angle where it appears the ball has hit the boundary pad. The host who hit JItesh Sharma was given a four, but in case a ball directly hits the line, a six is given.

However, the claim is incorrect. The angle from which the photo was taken made it visually deceptive. In fact, the on-field umpires checked with the third umpires (as is the norm in the case of controversial calls) before giving a four.
It wasn't SIX.
1. It was the right decision because the ball bounced in front of the rope (photo 1)
2. The referee quickly referred it up (photo 2) and the 3rd referee (with the advantage of multiple camera angles + zoomer) gave it a FOUR pic.twitter.com/y3JX3RZD8b

The decision was made quickly and I guess there wasn't time to show it on TV.
Hope, this rock 'n' roll clears it up. pic.twitter.com/bUAzd117z3

Meanwhile, former India opener Aakash Chopra praised Punjab Kings (PBKS) batsmen Shashank Singh and Ashutosh Sharma after their stellar performance against SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.
All hopes seemed gone as Punjab needed 51 runs in the last three overs, but the Shashank-Ashutosh duo smashed 66 runs off just 27 balls to take their team so close to the target.
Punjab's heroes in the previous game put up another brave fight against SRH this time as Shashank hit three boundaries in an over off Bhuvneshwar Kumar and his partner Ashutosh hit back-to-back fours off SRH captain Cummins, giving PBKS hope won at their home
Prabhsimran Singh also got out. Sam Curran played decently for quite some time but when he got out it looked like it was done and dusted. Sikandar Raza and Jitesh Sharma played short knocks. However, it still looked like they were way behind and that it's not going to happen,” Chopra said on his YouTube channel.
The former cricketer praised both the batters. He said they batted incredibly well and both impressed everyone again.
“I'm surprised they got so close because it looked like the match would only come there. Shashank Singh and Ashutosh Sharma again batted incredibly well and both impressed. Ashutosh Sharma's power is on another level. Like Shashank Singh played one or two balls less while also hitting a six with the last ball,” the commentator added.
