Helped by KL Rahul’s injury early in the game, Royal Challengers Bangalore did just enough to take an 18-point win over Lucknow Super Giants in a low-scoring Indian Premier League game at Ekana Cricket Stadium on Monday . LSG skipper Rahul strained his right thigh muscle in the second over of RCB innings while trying to stop a boundary and didn’t bat until near the end, which worked in the visitors’ favour. LSG put out a fine bowling show to limit RCB to a sub-par 126 after being asked to bowl first.
It later proved to be a nightmarish start for LSG as it chased a modest target of 127 runs. They were eventually bundled for 108.
The win helped RCB to one spot and move up to fifth position. Punjab Kings thus dropped to sixth place.
On the other hand, a loss to LSG saw them slide down one spot from No. 2. Their last position is number 3 as Rajasthan Royals has now moved up one spot above them. The table is topped by Gujarat Titans.
