Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) finally returned to glory in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, ending their six-match losing streak by beating Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Thursday. The 35-run win against SRH keeps RCB alive in the play-offs race, though their task is still tough. Though the journey could be long, RCB stars, especially Virat Kohli, found plenty of reasons to celebrate as they ended high-flying Hyderabad's winning streak. Kohli basically turned into a child when RCB pacer Yash Dayal bowled the final over of the match. (IPL 2024 points table)
Kohli was instrumental in his team's victory, scoring 51 runs as the Bengaluru franchise posted 206/7 while batting first. The bowling unit then worked together to put SRH in top order, inflicting a 35-run defeat.

After the match, Faf said during the post-match presentation, “In the last two games we have shown great signs of struggle. SRH game (in Bengaluru) was 270 plus, and we got 260. KKR game too – (lost by ) 1 run. We have been close for a while, but you have to win games to gain confidence as a group. You cannot express confidence in the group, you cannot feign confidence in the group that gives confidence is performance.”
“The competition is so strong, the teams are so strong that if you are not 100 percent you get injured. There are more guys scoring points now. In the first half of the tournament, only Virat (Kohli) scored points. Greeny (Cameron Green) ') Scoring runs will be huge for him now. We know Chinnaswamy has been a big frustration for us. It's a tough ground to bowl on. We've tried to find a recipe for it, but it is difficult,” he added.
RCB are at the bottom of the points table with two wins, seven losses and four points. SRH is at the third spot with five wins, three losses and 10 points.
