Chennai Super Kings batsman Ambati Rayudu has reacted strongly to some reports linking one of his tweets in response to what the great Sunil Gavaskar said during the commentary for the IPL 2023 match between CCSK and Rajasthan Royals. “You have to go out on the field. You can’t just go out and hit the ball. You can’t do that. We’ve seen that with Prithvi Shaw. He’s just gone off the bat without success. No fielding, there is not scored. Rayudu is out for a second-ball duck,” Gavaskar said on the broadcast.
CSK lost the match to RR. After the game ended, Rayudu posted a tweet: “In life and in sports, ups and downs are a constant part. We have to be positive and keep working hard and things will change. Results are not always a measure of our efforts . So always keep smiling and enjoy the process.”

Some media reports claimed that this tweet was in response to what Gavaskar said.
However, Rayudu has clarified that there is now connection. “What nonsense… my tweet has nothing to do with Mr Gavaskars’ great comments.. his opinions are highly respected and in regards to my fieldwork. A player doesn’t decide whether to play or not,” tweeted Ambati Rayudu .

Chennai Super Kings suffered a comprehensive defeat against Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 fixture on Thursday, falling 33 runs short of the target of 203 runs. The hosts, despite lacking a bit of support from the fans, put on a fantastic batting run with Yashasvi Jaiswal emerging as the top-scoring batsman. Chasing such a difficult target, CSK skipper MS Dhoni admitted there were just too many points to chase for his team, especially with the way the Royals batted in the first 6 overs.
Rajasthan started the match in 5th gear and put on a whopping 64 runs in the first 6 overs, with Jaiswal and Buttler posting another half-century for the opening wicket. Although Buttler failed to convert his start into a big score, Jaiswal went ahead and scored 77 runs off 43 balls to lay a solid foundation for his team.
Chasing the target of 203 runs, Chennai barely seemed to control the required run-rate, which continued to rise despite Ruturaj Gaikwad (47) and Shivam Dube (53) producing solid blows.
