Former Indian cricket team batsman Ambati Rayudu explained the reason behind quitting the ruling Andhra Pradesh party YSRCP within ten days of joining. Rayudu took to social media to explain that he will be participating in the ILT20 tournament in Dubai as part of the Mumbai Indians franchise and as a result, he had to let go of his political leanings while playing professional cricket. “I Ambati Rayudu will represent Mumbai Indians in the upcoming ILt20 from January 20 in Dubai. That requires me to be politically disconnected while playing professional sports,” he posted on X (formerly Twitter).

Rayudu was inducted into the party on December 28 in the presence of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister K Narayana Swamy and Rajampeta Lok Sabha member P Mithun Reddy.
“In the presence of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Ambati Tirupati Rayudu joined YSRCP at the CM's camp office,” YSRCP had then said in a post on social media platform
However, Rayudu decided to leave the party on January 6.
“This is to inform everyone that I have decided to leave the YSRCP party and stay away from politics for a while. Further action will be conveyed in due course. Thank you.” he wrote in a message.
Earlier, Rayudu outlined the differences between the fans of Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings.
Both teams have won a record five Indian Premier League (IPL) titles and are among the most supported teams in the league. In a recent interview, Rayudu was asked about the fandom of both franchises and he believes there is something fundamental that makes them different.
“As a player, I would say they support Mumbai Indians more than one player or If Mahi bhai is not there, don't think the stadium would be half full. They are all Mahi bhai fans,” Rayudu said on The Ranveer Show 360.
