Apple has introduced its Pride Collection 2024, which includes dynamic moving wallpapers for iPhones and iPads, along with a Pride Edition Braided Solo Loop and watch faces for the Apple Watch. Additionally, for the first time, the Cupertino-based tech giant will allow users to customize the wallpapers to show a spectrum of colors.
The solo barrel features a vibrant and fluorescent design based on multiple pride flags and also comes with a laser-etched strap with the inscription “Pride 2024”.
Apple revealed the meaning behind the colors on the Pride Edition Solo Loop, stating in a release: “The new Pride Edition Braided Solo Loop evokes the power and beauty of LGBTQ+ communities with a vibrant, fluorescent design inspired by multiple pride flags, and is features a laser-etched lip with the text 'PRIDE 2024'. The colors black and brown symbolize black, Hispanic and Latin communities, as well as those affected by HIV/AIDS, while the pink, light blue and white shades represent transgender and non-binary individuals. “
How do the Pride Dynamic backgrounds work?
Apple says the Pride Watchface on the Apple Watch will track each digit and respond in real time when the user moves their wrist. Meanwhile, the iPad and iPhone wallpaper spells “Pride” and moves dynamically when the user unlocks their device.
Apple has not announced a date when the Pride Radiance watch face, iPhone and iPad wallpaper will be made available. However, the company did say that the collection will arrive with the WatchOS 10.5, iOS 17.5, and iPadOS 17.5 update.
