Mumbai:
Actor Aditi Rao Hydari shared her ordeal at the Mumbai airport when she landed early in the morning and discovered that there was “no ladder or air bridge”. She shared the incident on her Instagram account on Saturday, saying she was left stranded on the tarmac. The airlines issued a statement clarifying that the delay was “12 minutes”.
Taking to her Instagram Stories, the “Rockstar” actor shared a photo of the airport from her flight window and called it an “airport circus.”
“New lows every day! No ladder or sky bridge. While watching the airport circus at 12.10pm. Stranded @vistara #mumbaiairportterminal2,” she captioned the post.
Hours later, Vistara said in a statement: “We confirm that the disembarkation of Vistara flight UK 876, operating from Hyderabad to Mumbai, was delayed by 12 minutes due to an obstacle in the ladder alignment with our aircraft.”
“The relevant authorities were immediately notified and corrective action was taken. We regret any inconvenience this has caused our customers,” the airline added.
Aditi Rao Hydari has starred in films like Ajeeb Daastan, Delhi 6, Bajirao Mastani, to name a few. Last year she starred in the hit series Jubilee.
Her upcoming project is a Sanjay Leela Bhansali period drama called 'Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar' and starring Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Sheikh and Sharmin Segal. The web series is scheduled to release on May 1.
The incident comes just months after another celebrity's airport nightmare. Actor Radhika Apte shared her ordeal at an airport in January when she and other fellow passengers were locked in the air bridge after the flight was delayed. The 'Sacred Games' actor did not name the city or the airline, but shared photos and videos on Instagram.
Television actor Surbhi Chandna, known for her role in Naagin 5, had also accused budget airline Vistara of 'mental harassment' earlier this year, alleging that her priority baggage was misplaced and ground staff misbehaved with her at the Mumbai airport.
