New Delhi:
The names and election symbols of the two factions of the Nationalist Congress Party will remain as the Election Commission has decided for the Lok Sabha polls, the Supreme Court said today, recommending status quo. However, the order is temporary and the matter will be reviewed.
The court was hearing a complaint by the party's Sharad Pawar faction against the poll body's decision.
The Ajit Pawar faction could use the clock symbol but would have to issue advertisements stating that it is sub judice. The Sharad Pawar faction can use the symbol 'man blowing trumpet' and the name Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Chandra Pawar), the court said.
