Guwahati:
A Tripura BJP leader was arrested today for allegedly assaulting a polling station chairman during phase 2 elections for Tripura East constituency on Friday. The action came after BJP's North Tripura district president Kajal Das slammed the poll worker in a video widely circulated on social media platforms.
Several other people, who are yet to be identified, were also seen attacking the officer at polling station number 22 of Bagbasa constituency.
According to a senior police official, a complaint was filed against Kajal Das by the Dharmanagar Assistant Constable.
