Mainpuri, UP:
Exuding confidence over the party's performance in the first two phases of the Lok Sabha elections held so far, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said the BJP has already scored a century, while the Congress and the Samajwadi Party have not even opened their accounts yet.
Further attacking the Samajwadi Party (SP) and accusing it of 'family politics', Mr Shah asked why the SP could not find another 'Yadav' candidate outside their family.
Addressing a public meeting in Mainpuri in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday, Amit Shah said, “Two phases have been voted so far, do you want to know the result? Modi ji is a century ahead and the two princes (Rahul and Akhilesh) have not even opened their accounts. Keep this on the wall: BJP wins 80 out of 80 seats in UP.”
“These elections are meant to help women, farmers and youth move forward in life and make the country safe and prosperous. This election is between those who fired bullets at Karsevaks and those who created Ram Temple,” he added.
The Home Minister further asked the people of Mainpuri to 'end' family politics and let the 'lotus flower' (phrase for BJP's victory) bloom in the constituency.
“Samajwadi Party, which claims to represent Yadavs. Let me tell you that Mulayam Singh became the CM, then his son became the CM, and after his death (Mulayam Singh Yadav) his daughter-in-law became an MP. This time, Akhilesh Yadav from Kannauj, Dimple Yadav from Mainpuri, Akshay Yadav from Firozabad, Aditya Yadav from Budaun and Dharmendra Yadav from Azamgarh are contesting,” Shah said.
“I want to ask Akhilesh Yadav, don't you find 'Yadavs' outside your family? They don't belong to anyone. The time has come to end these family celebrations and let the lotus bloom in Mainpuri under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi. he added.
Earlier in the day, Mr Shah addressed a public meeting at UP's Etah. He joked about Akhilesh Yadav and said that if things had been under the control of the SP chief, he would have fielded his family members in all seats in Uttar Pradesh.
Further, the Home Minister lashed out at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his comments that the BJP will end the reservation system and said the latter is spreading lies in the name of backward classes.
“Rahul Baba spreads lies in the name of backward classes. He says if the BJP wins 400 seats, it will remove reservations from the country. He doesn't understand that we had two full terms with an absolute majority to remove the reservations. , but Narendra Modi is a proponent of reservations. Today I give you a Modi assurance that the SC, ST and OBC reservations will not be removed by the BJP nor will we let anyone else do it,” Amit Shah said.
Mr. Shah also recalled that it was Babu ji (Kalyan Singh) who took up the cause of welfare of the backward classes and the poor, but his government collapsed because of Mulayam Singh.
“But when Narendra Modi became Prime Minister, he left no stone unturned in the progress of the backward classes and the poor. Congress has always attacked the reservation of SC, ST and OBCs but Modi ji has always worked for their upliftment,” the House said. said minister.
UP, which sends the maximum 80 MPs to the Lok Sabha, will be polled in all seven phases. The counting of all seven voting phases will take place on June 4.
