The KL Rahul-led Lucknow Super Giants were quite literally defeated by SunRisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2024 on Wednesday. The SRH, led by power-hitting openers Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma, chased down a target of 166 runs in just 9.4 overs. With 62 balls remaining, this was the fastest successful chase (over 100 targets) in IPL history. SRH's 167/0 in 9.4 overs is also the highest any team has ever scored in the first 10 overs of the tournament.
Needless to say, KL Rahul was a dejected man after the loss. “I'm at a loss for words,” Rahul said after the match. After the match, Rahul and LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka were seen having an intense conversation. The broadcasters described the interaction as: “Animated responses from the LSG camp.”

A player of such caliber KL Rahul having to bear the wrath of the team owner on the field in the national media is depressing to say the least! #miserable
You're disappointed – we get it! Talk it out during a team meeting behind closed doors fgs!

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) opener Abhishek Sharma gave full credit to his opening partner Travis Head for helping their franchise register a huge 10-wicket win over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 on Wednesday.
Abhishek played an unbeaten knock of 78 runs off just 28 balls at a strike rate of 267.86. He hit 8 fours and 6 sixes while chasing LSG's 166-run target.
After the match, Abhishek heaped praise on Travis Head for taking the pressure off from the start of the chase.
The 23-year-old revealed that Sunrisers bowlers advised the batters during the innings break and told them that the pitch was getting better for batting. He also thanked Yuvraj Singh, Brian Lara and his father for helping him reach this level.
“All the credit goes to him (Travis Head). The way he starts against all the bowlers… he goes after them from the start and takes the pressure off. The bowlers told us (during the innings break) that it was getting better and better , but Travis and I thought it didn't amount to much. I think the hard work I put in before the tournament is now showing, thanks to Yuvi Paaji, Brian (Lara) and my father, who is my first coach, “Abhishek. said.
