Delhi Capitals kept their IPL 2024 playoff dreams alive with a crucial win over Rajasthan Royals, but the victory was not without some controversy. Sanju Samson looked in brilliant form but he was dismissed for 86 and Shai Hope's catch to end his innings has sparked a huge debate among fans and experts alike. Replays suggested Hope was quite close to the boundary line when the catch was completed, but the third umpire decided in DC's favor. It resulted in an argument between the on-field umpires and Samson, with DC owner Parth Jindal's response to the incident also going viral.
After the catch, Jindal meets Samson and in a video posted by Delhi Capitals on their social media accounts, both of them are seen talking.

Parth Jindal himself reacted to the video and also explained his passionate response.
It was a nice interaction with Manoj and Sanju – it was incredible to see his power hitting the Kotla – he made us all extremely worried and hence the animated reaction when he was gone! I had the pleasure of congratulating him as well. Great victory for our boys! https://t.co/6luOM4UnTe

DC rode half-centuries from Abishek Porel and Jake Fraser-McGurk to a total over 200 and a disciplined bowling attack left RR well short of the target.
“I think we had it in our hands, it was about 11-12 runs per over, it was achievable but these things happen in IPL. Yes, we are doing both things fine, we will be happy to stick to the conditions if we “If we had gotten a few fewer boundaries, we would have gotten through.”
“The DC opener (Fraser McGurk) came out and did what he has done throughout the tournament, we still came back well. We lost three games but all those games were very tight, we played remarkably well, we We have to make some adjustments and make a comeback, we have to keep the momentum going.”
“Yes and no actually, you have to give credit to someone like Stubbs who batted well against Sandeep, who has bowled very well in the last 10-11 matches, he scored 2-3 extra sixes against my best bowlers which are Yuzi Chahal and Sandeep Sharma We have lost the match, we have to find out where we lost the match and we have to keep moving,” Samson said after the match.
