New Delhi:
Five Indian Air Force soldiers were injured when two vehicles in their convoy came under heavy terrorist fire in Surankote area of Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, sources said. Of the five injured, one pilot is in critical condition.
Reinforcements were rushed to the area and counter-terrorism operations are underway.
This is the first major attack on the armed forces this year in the region, which witnessed a series of terror attacks on the army last year. Images taken after the attack showed at least a dozen bullet holes in the windshield of the vehicle that came under fire.
