Polling has begun in 88 constituencies across 13 states and Union Territories for the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections.
Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar has said that adequate arrangements have been made for smooth elections in the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections and urged voters to participate in the festival of democracy in maximum numbers.
More than 16 lakh poll workers have been deployed. In the second phase, 15.88 crore voters will vote at 1.67 lakh polling stations. 34.8 lakh first-time voters are registered to cast their votes.

“The country wants development, that is why the BJP will form the government again and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will win a third term. Jhalawar MP Dushyant Singh has received good support… I believe he will create history this time too… We can never take anything for granted. Everything is in the hands of God and the voters,” Ms. Raje said.
“You will see the hearts of the people. The nation will see Kerala's participation in the national development movement,” Gopi said.
“I want to say to everyone: don't sit at home, come out and vote. It is your right, choose your leader. I always feel that people in the city vote less than people in rural areas. I've seen more people on my side. vote by age, so I request young people to come and vote,” Ms Murty said.
As many as 1,202 candidates, including 1,098 men and 102 women, are in the fray for the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections.
