Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra starrer Amar Singh Chamkila has received love and praise from critics and audiences. The film also impressed actor Vijay Varma. He revealed how even after five days the film still refused to leave his mind. The actor also thanked filmmaker Imtiaz Ali for this gift.
Vijay took to his Instagram stories on Monday and shared a picture of Parineeti and Diljit along with a note. He described the film as one of the most “powerful, moving and extraordinary” he has ever seen.
“It's been five days since I looked chamkila and it refuses to leave me. It is one of the most powerful, moving and extraordinary films I have seen and I want to thank @imtiazaliofficial for giving us this gift.”
He also praised Parineeti and Diljit for their performances.
Vijay wrote, “Parineeti Chopra was delightful as she used such simplicity and realness. And Diljit Dosanjh bhai.. mere shabd kam pad jayenge aapki taarif ke liye. Dil jit liya. BRAVO!”
Helped by Imtiaz Ali, Amar Singh Chamkila presents the untold true story of Punjab's original rock star of the masses, who emerged from the shadows of poverty and rose to the heights of popularity in the 1980s through the sheer power of his music, angering many along the way, leading to his murder at the young age of 27.
Diljit Dosanjh portrays Chamkila,” the best-selling artist of his time. Parineeti essays the role of Amar Singh Chamkila's wife, Amarjot Kaur.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Vijay Varma recently appeared in Adajania's Homi Murder of Mubarakwhich hit theaters on March 15. The film stars Karisma Kapoor, Sanjay Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan and Pankaj Tripathi in important roles.
Vijay Varma has finished shooting for their upcoming drama Ul Jaloel Ishq.
Helmed by Vibhu Puri, the film also stars veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah and Sharib Hashmi in lead roles.
The release date has not yet been announced. Ul Jaloel Ishq is produced by fashion icon Manish Malhotra under his company Stage5 Productions. The film also features music by Gulzar and Vishal Bhardwaj.
