The Indian cricket team squad for the 2024 T20 World Cup will be announced soon. With the deadline (May 1) fast approaching, BCCI's chief selectors were seen in Delhi, where Indian captain Rohit Sharma played on Saturday. Rohit is expected to meet Agarkar on Sunday and the team will be announced anytime in the coming days. Several experts have picked their version of the ideal T20 World Cup squad for 2024. 1983 World Cup winner Krishnamachari Srikkanth also chose his team.
Interestingly, neither Shubman Gill nor Yashasvi Jaiswal feature in his squad. His eleventh player has Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma as openers, followed by Suryakumar Yadav at number 3. Shivam Dube, KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya follow. Then the spin bowling consists of Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja. They are followed by pacers Avesh Khan, Arshdeep Singh and Jasprit Bumrah. Rinku Singh, Axar Patel and T Nataraj have been appointed as reserves. The most interesting part is that Sanju Samson and Rishabh Pant are battling it out for the second wicketkeeper spot.

Even former Indian cricket team star Sanjay Manjrekar believes Kuldeep and Jadeja are the best spin combination for the T20 World Cup.
“Yes. And this is perhaps Kuldeep Yadav at his peak in terms of his skills and his confidence. You can see now that he is out there like a Bumrah or Chahal at his peak. He commands that kind of respect. He looks like his ease with the responsibility and champions, you know, those breaks and those moments that you look for at the right time,” Manjrekar told Star Sports.
“So this is where Kuldeep has now become a champion bowler and he is someone I mean we have to take note of. Ravindra Jadeja will come in as a left-arm spinner batsman and Kuldeep the second spinner,” he added.
