The Congress party on Wednesday responded to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's accusation that they are silent on the discussion about Ambani and Adani. The party claimed that since April 2024, Rahul Gandhi had mentioned (Gautam) Adani 103 times and (Mukesh) Ambani more than 30 times.
“The tide of these elections has turned so violently that the 'Daddy' of 'Hum Do Hamare Do' is turning against his own children,” Congress leader Jairam Ramesh wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

Congress party president Mallikarjun Kharge also slammed Modi for the comments and said the Prime Minister was nervous after phase 3 of the Lok Sabha elections.
“Times are changing. Friends are not friends anymore. After completion of three phases of elections, Prime Minister today started attacking his own friends. This is the real trend of the result,” Kharge posted on X in Hindi.

Meanwhile, Jairam Ramesh accused Modi of hypocrisy, citing the controversial Electoral Bonds and alleged favoritism in contracts.
'The man who collected ₹8,200 crore in electoral bonds for his party – a scam so blatant that even the Supreme Court has declared it unconstitutional – is today directing his accusations at others. Remember that the Prime Minister has given valuable contracts and licenses through his 'Chaar Raaste' ₹4 lakh crore to his cronies in return for their donations,” Ramesh further wrote on X.
At a rally in Telangana on Wednesday, Modi questioned Congress leaders' “sudden” silence on (Mukesh) Ambani and (Gautam) Adani in this (Lok Sabha) election.

“Since the Rafale issue came up, they started talking about five industrialists. Then they started talking about Ambani and Adani. I want to ask Congress's Shehzada (Rahul Gandhi) from Telangana how much black money did they receive from Adani, Ambani?” Modi asked.
He further asked “what deal took place that stopped Ambani-Adani abuse overnight”.
“How much (funding) has the party Congress received from them,” Modi asked, adding that the Congress party will have to clarify the matter.
Modi also attacked the K Chandrasekhar Rao-led BRS, saying it is 'family first' for the two parties.
