Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray on Thursday released the party manifesto for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The manifesto was released a day before the voting in the second phase of the Lok Sabha polls.
The Shiv Sena's (UBT) manifesto or 'Vachannama' focuses on stopping Maharashtra “loot”, creating jobs and waiving farm loans. “We are committed to the interests of Maharashtra!” the party tweeted in Marathi while announcing its manifesto on X.
Addressing a press conference, Thackeray said the financial city, which he claimed had been “moved to Gujarat”, will be built in Mumbai. He said the move will enable employment opportunities in the state.
According to PTI, Thackeray said that jobs will be created at the district level so that people from the state do not have to migrate.
The Shiv Sena (UBT) also promised to “not only waive farm loans but also review the terms and conditions related to crop insurance”. He said that agricultural machinery and seeds will be made exempt from GST (Goods and Services Tax).
Thackeray also assured implementation of the Minimum Support Price (MSP) recommended in the Swaminathan Committee report.
