Lok Sabha elections: At the Vijay Sankalp rally in Rishikesh in Uttarakhand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday praised the Uri and Balakot surgical strikes, stating that in the decade that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ruled India, terrorists have been killed in their own country. own houses. The Prime Minister's 'Mazboot Modi Sarkar' comment came amid allegations that sleeper cells of the Indian intelligence agency's Research & Analysis Wing (RAW), handled by Prime Minister Modi's office, had orchestrated targeted killings in Pakistan.
While hailing India's surgical strikes in Uri and Balakot, Prime Minister Modi said that 'among the Mazboot Modi says I am charmed by the mara jata hai'.
The 2019 Balakot airstrike was a bombing carried out by Indian warplanes on February 26, 2019, in Balakot, Pakistan, against a suspected terrorist training camp. The surgical strike took place just before the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
The Uri surgical strike took place when the Indian Army crossed the Line of Control (LOC) into Azad Kashmir on September 29, 2016 to attack targets up to one kilometer inside Pakistan's territory. The raid took place 10 days after four militants attacked an Indian Army outpost in Uri in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir on September 18, 2016, killing 19 soldiers.
“The Indian Tricolor has become a guarantee of security even in the war zone,” Prime Minister Modi affirmed.
He also said that when the country has had a weak government, enemies have taken advantage.
Lashing out at the Congress, Prime Minister Modi said, “During the Congress regime, the soldiers did not even have bulletproof jackets. There was no proper arrangement to protect them from enemy bullets.”
“It was the BJP that gave Indian-made bulletproof jackets to its soldiers and saved their lives. Today, everything from modern rifles to fighter jets and aircraft carriers are made domestically,” PM Modi added.
This is evident from a report published by the Guardian on April 5, Prime Minister Modi's office, citing Indian and Pakistani intelligence agents, ordered the killing of individuals in neighboring Pakistan.
According to the report, the Research & Analysis Wing, an agency directly controlled by Prime Minister Modi's office, had undertaken the strategy to “eliminate terrorists living on foreign soil”.
The Guardian The report focused on killings in Pakistan, which it claims have exceeded 20 since 2020.
Soon after the report surfaced, Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh had also said, “If any terrorist tries to disrupt India from a neighboring country or carry out terror activities in India, we will always give him a befitting response.”
In an interview with News18Rajnath Singh said, “If that terrorist will run towards Pakistan (from India), Pakistan will mein ghus ke marenge (kill them by entering Pakistan)”.
Uttarakhand has five Lok Sabha seats and the state will go to polls in a single phase on April 19.
