Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Home Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Amit Shah said in an interview that on the day of counting of Lok Sabha poll votes, June 4, the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) exceeded its majority in 400 seats at 12:30 p.m. Shah's statements were made in line with the BJP's Lok Sabha election slogan: 'Aab ki pair, 400 pairs'.
During an interview with News18 Network, Amit Shah claimed that BJP would repeat its 2019 Lok Sabha election performance in Maharashtra, Delhi, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir and Gujarat.

On allegations by Sunita Kejriwal that there was a conspiracy to kill Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal in jail, Amit Shah told News18 that Tihar Jail, where Kejriwal is lodged, falls under the jurisdiction of the Delhi government and not the Union Home Ministry.
“Look, Tihar Jail falls under the Delhi government, of which Kejriwal ji is the chief minister. Just as he plots to commit suicide,” Shah told News18.
On CAA
Home Minister Amit Shah revealed to News18 that the initial citizenship grants under the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) are expected to be issued in May 2024. He noted that the influx of applications for citizenship under the CAA had already begun. “I think before the elections, before the final phase, the process of granting citizenship will begin,” Amit Shah told the news media.
