Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged the people of Karnataka to reject the Congress for its “perverse sense of vote bank politics” and blamed the grand old party for the Rameshwaram Cafe blast in Bengaluru. .over, he also alleged that the party had taken support from the banned Popular Front of India (PFI), the anti-national organization that was supporting terrorism in the state.
“The way Congress has taken PFI's help for vote bank is encouraging them. Congress' track record is shedding tears while killing terrorists. You all must remember that when such an incident took place in Delhi, a Congress leader shed tears, that's why a terrorist was killed,” ANI quoted Prime Minister Modi at his election rally in Sirsi in Karnataka.
Prime Minister Modi addressed the campaign rally on Sunday where he asked people to vote in large numbers for party nominees Vishveshwara Hegde from Uttara Kannada and Prahlad Joshi from Dharwad.
His remarks against the Congress came after the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) came out in support of the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
SDPI is infamous for its links with the PFI and is widely known as the political group of the banned terrorist organization, ANI reported. In 2022, the organization was declared an 'unlawful association' by the Union Home Ministry.
Besides targeting the Congress over the Rameshwaram Cafe blast in Bengaluru, PM Modi also accused Rahul Gandi of insulting India's Rajas and Maharajas. He questioned Gandhi's silence on the atrocities committed by Nawabs, Nizams, Sultans and Badshahs to appease his voters.
