On Sunday, May 12, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a roadshow in Patna, Bihar. This will be the first time that a Prime Minister will hold a roadshow in the Bihar capital during a Lok Sabha election.
During a two-day visit to Bihar, Prime Minister Modi will campaign for his former Cabinet colleague Ravi Shankar Prasad, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate from Patna Sahib constituency.
In 2019, Prasad, the former Union law minister, defeated Congress candidate Shatrughan Sinha by over three lakh votes. The Congress has fielded former Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar's son Anshul Avijit from Patna Sahib as its Mahagathbandhan candidate this time. Sinha is contesting from Asansol as a TMC candidate this time. Patna Sahib seat voting in the seventh phase on June 1.
Tejashwi Yadav's jibe at Modi
Opposition Leader Tejashwi Yadav joked during Modi's planned roadshow and claimed that he had chosen Patna for the roadshow as he thinks it is the safest place for the BJP in Bihar.
“It doesn't matter whether the Prime Minister does an air show or a road show. Tejashwi will do a job show,” Tejashwi Yadav, former deputy chief minister of Bihar, told reporters.

The RJD leader explained that Modi's roadshow could come as the Prime Minister is in turmoil over the issue of unemployment and price hike raised by the Opposition in poll campaigns. On the other hand, he said the Prime Minister is raising non-issues like Mandir-Masjid, Muslims and Mangalsutra, which have failed to cut much ice among the voters.
Prime Minister Modi will campaign for Chirag Paswan
Modi will campaign for Chirag Paswan, the LJP(R) candidate from Hajipur, on May 13, followed by a public rally in Muzaffarpur for BJP candidate Raj Bhushan Nishad during the two-day visit to Bihar. He will also seek voters for former Union minister Rajiv Pratap Rudy in Chapra, now called Saran Lok Sabha constituency.

She is making her poll debut from a constituency where her father, Lalu, first became a Lok Sabha member in 1977, when he was 28.
