A baby boy in Wisconsin, United States, has been nicknamed 'McFlurry' after his mother gave birth in a McDonald's parking lot in the middle of a snowstorm, according to a report in Fox news.
Two weeks before her due date, on January 12, Analysia Beck, who has two older children, went into labor in the middle of the night. She woke her husband and told him to pack and drive to the hospital. “So I had him call the hospital and of course the hospital asked all these questions, and they asked what my plan was for the pain, and I (answered), 'An epidural immediately,'” the mother told the outlet. However, her newborn baby, whose real name is Micah Daniel Beck, had plans to arrive early. “I thought, 'No, it's happening now. We have to stop,'” she said.
Mrs. Beck got into the trunk of the SUV and prepared to start pushing as soon as the couple pulled into the McDonald's parking lot, which was closest to them. “Halfway through, I was just lying in our trunk and I was like, 'Oh my God. This is happening at McDonald's… I can't believe it,'” she recalled.
Even though they had already called 911, the baby had already started crowning when the ambulance arrived and it started snowing. “As soon as I knew the paramedics were there, I pushed…within minutes they ran in and grabbed the baby,” the new mother said. The new newborn was named “McFlurry” because of the cold weather and McDonald's parking lot. According to Fox, News, there were other choices including 'Mickey D's', 'McBaby' and 'Small Fry'.
Hales Corners Fire Department first responder Brianna Baltutis told reporters she didn't expect to see the birth in the parking lot and only planned to take the mother to the hospital when she and her partner got the call. “We got there and we thought we were going to get her loaded up and taken to the hospital before she actually delivered the baby. To me, there are people who should have been in the fire service for more than thirty years and they don't. ever delivered a baby, so I think that's super, super cool,” she said.
