Greta Thunberg was seen holding a sign that read ‘Stand with Gaza’

New Delhi:

Climate activist Greta Thunberg’s support for Gaza has drawn a sharp response from Israel. On Friday, Greta posted a photo on X, formerly Twitter, of four activists, including herself, holding banners expressing their solidarity with Palestine and Gaza.

In response to Ms Thunberg’s post, Israel, through its official

“The victims of the Hamas massacre could have been your friends. Speak up,” the post added

Israel also used photos of three 19-year-old Israelis who were reportedly killed in a Hamas attack.

.@GretaThunbergHamas does not use sustainable materials for their rockets that have slaughtered innocent Israelis.

The response came after Ms Thunberg was seen in her post holding a sign that read: “Stand with Gaza.”

Another activist called for a “Free Palestine,” while two other women held up signs with the messages: “This Jew Supports Palestine” and “Climate Justice Now!”

“Week 270. Today we strike in solidarity with Palestine and Gaza. The world must speak out and call for an immediate ceasefire, justice and freedom for Palestinians and all affected civilians,” Greta Thunberg wrote in the caption.

However, some users came to Ms Thunberg’s defense. They pointed out that her statement of support was directed at Gaza, and not necessarily at Hamas. One user wrote: ‘Your subconscious and true ideals have been leaked. She said Gaza, not Hamas. This says a lot. good luck editing this.”

Another person accused Israel of “playing the victim card.”

One user accused Israel of similar actions and expressed concerns about the environmental sustainability of the air and water vehicles used by the IDF in the context of restricting freedom of movement and impacting Palestinians in the region. “The air and water vehicles used by the IDF to restrict freedom of movement and SLAUGHTER innocent Palestinians in the largest open-air prison in 75 years are not made of sustainable materials,” read the commentary.

Ms Thunberg’s statement came 270 weeks after she started her school strike on Friday, which later sparked the global school strike movement.

Oh, I can do this too.

The United Nations revealed that in just ten days, around 4,200 people have lost their lives and more than a million people have been forced to leave their homes as a result of the war between Israel and Hamas.
