New Delhi:
Ecuadorian influencer Landy Parraga Goyburo was shot dead after her Instagram post revealed her location to the attackers, reports say. Just before her death, Goyburo had posted a photo of her eating “octopus ceviche” during lunch at a restaurant, where she was targeted by two armed men.
The incident was captured by surveillance cameras, which showed two unknown gunmen storming into the eatery where Landy Parraga Goyburo was sitting. As she spoke to a companion, the gunmen burst in. Within seconds, the peace of the restaurant was shattered when gunshots rang out, sending customers running for cover and leaving Goyburo and another person defenseless.
Despite the chaos, the 23-year-old's attempt to seek refuge proved futile when one of the gunmen shot at her mercilessly. The attackers then fled, leaving behind a scene of horror and disbelief. Footage captured in the aftermath shows Goyburo, a former beauty queen, lying in a pool of blood.
Just before the attack, the influencer had shared a photo of her lunch on Instagram with her 173,000 followers. Investigators believe the shooters learned her location through the mail.
The motive behind the gruesome crime is still unknown. Speculation abounds, with theories ranging from Goyburo's alleged involvement with a notorious gang boss to her entanglement in a corruption investigation linking judicial officials to organized crime. There are rumors that the murder may have been orchestrated by the widow of a drug lord, with whom Goyburo allegedly had an affair.
