IIT-Guwahati switches completely to offline classes (file photo)
IIT-Guwahati was the first of the IITs to bring all students back to campus and started offline classes in March 2022
IIT-Guwahati has fully resumed classes in physical mode, a statement said on Friday. More than 7,400 students are now taking classes in classrooms, with the group admitted during the pandemic attending the full semester’s classes in person for the first time, it said.
IIT-Guwahati was the first of the IITs to bring all students back to campus and start offline classes in March 2022, and currently all academic activities will be held offline from the semester of 2022-23 July. IIT-Guwahati has taken all COVID-19-related precautions and is currently organizing a massive vaccination campaign to ensure the safety of its students, the statement said.

“The campus is once again full of zeal and enthusiasm with the presence of students everywhere and the environment is now full of life. This will allow for more intellectual interaction between the community and benefit everyone, including those who depended on the IIT-G campus for their livelihood,” said Director TG Sitharam. The students are now exploring a plethora of opportunities that they missed during online classes, he added.
