Neepa Manocha cleared UPSC CSE with an AIR 144.
After becoming a CS, she started working at a brokerage firm.
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Service Examination is one of the most competitive exams in the country. Every year, thousands of candidates appear for one of the most difficult exams after preparing for it for years. But only a few of them can clear it and work for the government as administrators. There have been several success stories where aspirants were average students during their school and college years but worked hard enough to crack the civil service exam. But today we are going to talk about an achiever who first cleared her exams as a company secretary and then also became an IPS officer.
Like all aspirants, Neepa Manocha’s journey involved a lot of hard work, perseverance and precision. Neepa graduated from Lady Shri Ram College, University of Delhi in 2015. She then did her masters in economics from the Delhi School of Economics in 2017. After completing her education from one of the most prestigious institutes in the country, she wanted to take a competitive exam. With a background in finance and economics, she started her preparations for the Company Secretary (CS) Executive and Company Secretary (CS) Professional exams conducted by the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI).
Neepa even cleared the exam and became a company secretary (CS). She was also an all-India topper and made her family proud. After becoming a CS, she started working at a brokerage firm. After working there for months, she realized she wanted to do more in her life and achieve more success. As a result, Neepa decided that she would appear for the civil service exam and become an IAS or IPS officer.
Eventually, she started preparing and even took coaching. Gradually, she decided to quit her job at the stock exchange company and focus on UPSC full-time. Since CSE is a difficult exam, very few people can clear it in their first attempts. A similar situation also occurred with Neepa, who failed in her first three attempts. But she did not lose hope and continued to work hard. She learned from her past mistakes and cleared the exam in her fourth attempt with an AIR 144. She became an IPS officer in 2022.
