After the incident, the singer took to Instagram to update his fans and supporters. He called for strict measures to ensure the safety of artists during live performances. He said in the video: “The drone fans, they kind of hit and bruised the back of my head. Two of my fingers are completely bruised. But that’s all fine. I think I’ll recover from this much faster. Thanks to everyone for love and prayers.”
He also listed three suggestions for live performers to make sure they’re safe and things like this don’t happen again. “I just want to express three things. All artists should make sure they have a clause that the drone can’t get close to them while they’re performing because their movements can’t be coordinated. You need someone with you who works specifically on drones. Please all colleges, companies, show or event organizers get a certified drone operator because it is very dangerous. The person must be certified to fly a drone,” he said in the video.
“We’re artists. We just sing on stage. We’re not Vijay or Ajay or Salman Khan or Prabhas or some action hero. You don’t have to do all these stunts. Just do a regular show. We just want to look fun. The drones should not come so close to artists during a live performance,” concludes Dayal.
Since being shared, his post has received a lot of support from across the industry.
Lead singer Armaan Malik said “Man this is a mess. Get well Ben!”
“Omgg!! That must have been right after we met. Take care of Benny, hope you get well soon!” noted singer Shirley Setia.
Three-time Grammy-winning recording artist Ricky Kej also commented on the incident. He said, “You are one of the kindest and best persons I know. Only this video, despite what you have been through, breathes kindness and empathy. More power to you. You are amazing.”
“This happens when some dropouts get into photography and videography just because they think it’s easy and they have money to buy equipment. People should hire people for these jobs based on skills and not equipment,” said one user.
“Thanks for expressing…. Heal well and heal soon. Sending love,” another user added.
