Film critic Saibal Chatterjee wrote for NDTV Animal 1.5 stars and said: “Animal is the kind of movie that wants us to believe that it's okay if a loving son goes crazy when it comes to dealing with those who threaten the well-being of his father and his two sisters. Because danger seems to lurk on every street corner, he has the right to be as rude as he wants. The main character (Ranbir Kapoor) goes to hell for leather, sheds tons of blood, kills dozens of people and blows hotter and hotter when he finds out that there is indeed a conspiracy afoot to eliminate the patriarch and rob his family of the steel mill that she owns. . Even in love, there is no room for niceties for this me-or-the-highway guy. He doesn't so much fall in love as grasp at it. He doesn't propose marriage. He literally demands it.”
Animal is produced by T-Series Films, Bhadrakali Pictures and Cine1 Studios.
