2023 Reliance AGM: Speech at the 46th General Assembly
Roadmap for value creation
Our founder Shri Dhirubhai Ambani always emphasized the power of dreams to achieve greater things. He used to say, “For those who dare to dream, there is a whole world to gain.”
Confidence is proof of the power of dreams.
In the 1970s, Reliance’s dream was to make the colourful, durable and ambitious polyester textile available to all Indians.
In the 1980s, Reliance dreamed of a largely self-sufficient India in the wonder materials of the time: polyester, polymers and petrochemicals.
In the 1990s, Reliance dreamed of removing India’s dependence on imported fuels that were refined abroad.
In the first decade of the 21st century, Reliance focused on improving India’s energy security by exploring hydrocarbons in the depths of the oceans.
Over the past fifteen years, Reliance has pursued two big dreams: to create an omni-channel retail network and to bring the power of digital technology to every Indian – with the goal of benefiting hundreds of millions of consumers.
Every dream came true. Each dream was bigger than the last. Each dream caused Reliance to reinvent itself.
