Prince William recently spoke about missing his wife, Kate Middleton, during a royal gathering in Sheffield, England, on Tuesday. During his speech, Prince William focused on the wellbeing of young children, making a light-hearted comment about his wife's work on early childhood projects. 'I'm venturing into my wife's territory here. She must be sitting here to hear this,” he said and smiled.
During another interaction at the event, well-wisher Peter Brownley, 61, said he had sent the Princess of Wales a 'get well soon' card. To this, Prince William replied: “You're really nice,” according to Daily Mail.
Prince William had also called his wife at a youth center on March 14 after someone praised his cookie decorating skills. The prince had modestly replied: 'It is really not an impressive work. My wife is artsy. My children are more artistic than I am.'
Kate Middleton has not been officially seen in public since Kensington Palace announced her planned abdominal surgery in January. The prince's visit came shortly after a video showing the royal couple walking near their Windsor Farm Shop home went viral.
Kate previously posted a photo with her three children for Mother's Day, but it was quickly removed by news agencies such as AP, AFP and Reuters, who suspected the photo had been tampered with. This led to more speculation about her absence and sparked conspiracy theories on the internet.
To clear up the confusion, the Princess of Wales apparently signed a statement shared on the official X account of the Prince and Princess of Wales, expressing concerns that the photo was photoshopped. “Like many amateur photographers, I occasionally experiment with editing. I wanted to apologize for any confusion the family photo we shared yesterday caused. I hope everyone who celebrated had a very Happy Mother's Day,” read the statement, signed “C.”
