Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer Parveen Kaswan, who regularly shares interesting wildlife facts, shared a heart-warming video praising the success story of tiger conservation in Panna Tiger Reserve. In particular, the reserve located on the Vindhya Hill in northern Madhya Pradesh is a critical tiger habitat with a fragile dry deciduous forest. Mr Kaswan noted that there was a time when there were no tigers in the reserve, but now they are increasing in number.
''From zero #tiger to scene like this. Panna Tiger Reserve is a true #conservation success story. Just a family of tigers roaming around,” he wrote while sharing a video of a family of tigers. The 41-second clip shows five majestic big cats roaming freely in their natural habitat.

In February 2009, there were no tigers left in the Panna Tiger Reserve. A reintroduction program was initiated in March that year when two tigresses, T1 and T2, were transferred to the reserve from Bandhavgarh and Kanha tiger reserves. According to the National Tiger Conservation Authority, there are currently 23 tigers living in Panna, comprising 5 original tigers and 18 adults/sub-adults/cubs.
Internet users loved the video and applauded the inspiring transformation of the tiger reserve. Others were excited and mesmerized as they saw the beautiful sight. One user wrote: 'This thriving tiger family in the Panna Tiger Reserve is a true testament to the power of #conservation efforts and the dedication of those working to protect beautiful wildlife! ''
Another commented: 'This is amazing; I have never seen so many tigers together. What a rare sight.”
A third added: “From about 35 tigers to an immaculate zero, and now about 60 tigers with 15 cubs!! Panna TR is a great success story in tiger conservation in the country. It is a story of the foresight, determination, sincerity and hard work of Panna management.”
A fourth said: 'Conservation success is incredible to witness the transformation from zero tigers to such a thriving scene at Panna Tiger Reserve! evidence of dedicated conservation efforts.”
Madhya Pradesh has many tiger reserves including Kanha, Bandhavgarh, Pench, Satpura, Panna and Sanjay Dubri.
