Hyderabad:
In a bid to woo minority voters, Telangana President Bharat Rashtra Samithi and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Thursday said if his party returns to power, the government will set up a special information technology park for minority youth near here.
Addressing a rally in Maheshwaram, where Education Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy is contesting the November 30 elections, KCR said his government is treating Muslims and Hindus as two eyes and taking everyone along.
“Today we give pensions that Muslims also receive. We have opened residential schools where Muslim students also study. We’ll take everyone with us. Today we are thinking about Muslim youth and setting up a special IT park for them near Hyderabad. The IT park will be located near Pahadi Shareef,” he said.
Claiming that Telangana is ‘peaceful’ with no law and order problems, Mr. Rao said the BRS government has spent Rs 12,000 crore on minority development in the last ten years while the Congress spent Rs 2,000 during its ten-year regime crore has spent.
“As long as KCR is alive, Telangana will remain a secular state,” he said.
According to the Chief Minister, development in Telangana was possible after it became a separate state.
“Who has achieved the status of Telangana? Who is able to implement 24 hours free power? Who has brought tap water to every doorstep?” he asked the people, who shouted back “KCR.”
Mr. Rao said that when Telangana was formed, the situation was chaotic and proper drinking and irrigation water facilities did not exist. Mr. Rao said wealth has grown because his government is making efforts and maintaining fiscal discipline.
He said there is no water tax in Telangana, unlike any other state in India, even as the government provides free ‘quality power’ to farmers for 24 hours.
KCR said the agricultural situation in the state has improved and if the same measures continue for another 10 to 15 years, farmers will come out of the forest.
He alleged that Congress is saying that KCR is wasting taxpayers’ money and giving ‘Rythu Bandhu’, an investment aid to farmers. be gradually increased from the existing Rs 10,000 per annum to Rs 16,000.
“Congress leaders carelessly say they will give power only for three hours. They are also saying that the Dharani (an integrated land management portal) will be dumped in the Bay of Bengal,” he said, adding that the Congress move could lead to the resumption of the middlemen regime.
He asked people to think and make a decision on who they should vote for, saying the vote would change the future of the state for the next five years.
