Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Gujarat on May 12 and will inaugurate in Gandhinagar and lay the foundation stone of projects worth around Rs 4,400 crore, an official statement said on Thursday.
“At around 10:30 am, the Prime Minister will join Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Sangh Adhiveshan in Gandhinagar. Then he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of several projects worth about Rs 4,400 crores at 12 noon in Gandhinagar,” the statement from the That is what the Prime Minister’s Office has said.
Prime Minister Modi will also visit “Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT city).
During the visit, he will review the status of various ongoing projects in GIFT City. There will also be an interaction with GIFT IFSC entities to understand their experience and future plans in GIFT City. The Prime Minister will also visit key infrastructure facilities of the city, including the ‘Underground Utility Tunnel’ and ‘Automated Waste Collection Segregation Plant’,” the official statement said.
On the occasion, Prime Minister Modi will also hand over the keys of the houses to the beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) scheme.
“The Prime Minister will also inaugurate the PMAY projects (rural and urban) and lay the foundation stone, and participate in Gruh Pravesh of about 19,000 houses built under the plan. He will hand over the keys to the beneficiaries of the project during the program plan. The total expenditure of these projects is about Rs 1950 crores,” the release said.
“In Gandhinagar, he will inaugurate and lay foundation stone of development projects worth more than Rs 2450 crores. These include projects of Urban Development Department, Water Supply Department, Road and Transport Department and Mining and Minerals Department,” he added up to it.
Projects to be inaugurated include expansion of drinking water supply programs for multiple villages in Banaskantha district, river bridge in Ahmedabad, sewage collection network at Naroda GIDC, sewage treatment plants in Mehsana and Ahmedabad, auditorium in Dahegam. The projects whose foundation stone would be laid include pipeline projects in Junagadh district, expansion of water supply systems in Gandhinagar district, construction of viaduct bridges, a new water distribution station and several urban roads, the official statement said.
PM Modi will also participate in Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Sangh Adhiveshan, the 29th biennial conference of the All India Primary Teachers’ Federation.
The theme of this conference is ‘Teachers are at the center of transforming education’.
