The new firmware, which is closely related to the previous updates Nothing OS 2.5.3 and Nothing OS 2.5.4, mainly focuses on improving the camera experience of the Phone (2a). Users can expect improved color saturation, faster camera loading times, and better blur accuracy in portrait mode. These upgrades are intended to deliver clearer and more vibrant photos.
Additionally, Nothing OS 2.5.5 introduces optimizations for Google Assistant activation and pop-up display animations, aiming to deliver a smoother and more responsive user experience. The update also claims to improve the overall smoothness of the device and gaming performance, targeting users who enjoy gaming on their smartphones.
Notably, the latest firmware fixes a number of known issues, including compatibility issues with third-party launchers, stability issues with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections, and issues with the Night Light feature on the lock screen. These fixes are expected to improve the overall reliability and usability of the Nothing Phone (2a).
Users who would like to update their devices can manually check for the Nothing OS 2.5.5 firmware by going to Settings > System > System Update on their phone (2a).
The Nothing Phone (2a), which made its debut in India in early March, offers competitive features at an affordable price. Priced at Rs. 23,999 for the base model with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, the smartphone is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro SoC and features an AMOLED display with an adaptive refresh rate of 120Hz.
