Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote a letter to all candidates of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), just two days ahead of the first phase of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
In the letter sent on the occasion of Ram Navami, the Prime Minister encouraged the candidates “to make full use of the last hours of the election campaign”. Noting the problems posed by the summer heat, he said: “This is not an ordinary election.”

This is what the letter said:
Prime Minister Modi first congratulated the Lok Sabha candidates for their “decision to leave a prestigious job and commit to serving the people directly”. He praised them for “really playing an important role in strengthening the grassroots presence of the BJP in the states”.
“With the blessings of the people, I am confident that you will reach Parliament. Team members like you are a great asset to me. As a team, we will leave no stone unturned for the welfare of the people of the constituency and the country,” PM Modi's letter said.

Through this letter he told the people of the constituencies “that these are not ordinary elections”. He used this opportunity to also take potshots at the conference.
“Families across India, especially the senior citizens, will remember the hardships they went through during the five to six decades of Congress rule. Over the past decade, the quality of life for every part of society has improved, with many of them eliminating these problems. Yet much more needs to be done and these elections will be decisive in our mission to ensure a better life for all.
Prime Minister Modi called all these Lok Sabha elections an 'opportunity to connect our present with a bright future'. He said every vote the BJP gets will help form a stable government and “give momentum to our journey to become a developed nation.” by 2047″.

“At this crucial moment, I urge you and all other workers to make full use of the last few hours of the election campaign. At the same time, I also request you to take care of your health and that of other people around you,” Prime Minister Modi said in the letter to the candidates.
Stressing that “the summer heat is creating problems for everyone”, Prime Minister Modi also issued a word of caution to the voters. He said these elections are extremely important for the future of the country. “I therefore appeal to voters to cast their votes early in the morning before the heat sets in,” he said.
“As a candidate of the BJP, I urge you to convey to every voter the assurance that every moment of my time is spent for the welfare of my fellow citizens. I send you my wishes for your victory in the elections,” he told the candidates.
He concluded the letter by saying, “It is Modi's guarantee that we will be working 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by 2047!”
Voting for the Lok Sabha elections will begin on April 19. The results will be announced on June 4.
