Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi was greeted with 'Modi-Modi' chants on Tuesday as the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra passed through Madhya Pradesh. The senior Congress leader along with party colleague Kamal Nath offered prayers at the Mahakaleshwar temple in Ujjain. BJP workers also offered him potatoes – in a mocking gesture – while he blew a kiss in response.
“Sometimes it happens during the yatra, like today. Three-four people of BJP stood with flags. They were shouting. I got out of the vehicle, shook hands and asked, how is your brother? And they stopped shouting and started smiling and when I left, they did this (making gesture of kissing hands),” Gandhi later recalled.
The Congress lawmaker emphasized that it is easy to deal with such incidents by opening “mohabbat ki dukan” (shop of love) in “nafrat ka bazaar” (market of hate).
