Addressing Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the Parliament security breach, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said the reason behind the incident was “unemployment and inflation”.
Gandhi said unemployment is the “biggest problem in the country”. Indian youth are not getting jobs because of the policies of the Modi government. There is certainly a safety error, but the reason behind it is unemployment and price increase,” he said in a video clip he posted on social media on Saturday.
The caption in Gandhi's social media post read: “Where are the jobs? The youth are desperate – we need to focus on this issue, give jobs to the youth…”
Parliament witnessed a major security lapse on Wednesday where two visitors jumped into the Lok Sabha chambers from the public gallery and opened a bus billowing yellow smoke, causing panic among MPs. They shouted anti-establishment slogans before being overpowered by MPs.
Meanwhile, two other people, including a woman, stood outside Parliament with a smoke canister. The security breach occurred on the anniversary of the 2001 terror attack on Parliament.
According to PTI, during interrogation, one of these four suspects told police that they were in Parliament to protest against various issues including unemployment, violence in Manipur and more. All these four suspects were arrested on Thursday and sent to the seven-day custody of the Delhi Police Special Cell.
As many as six suspects, including the 'mastermind' behind the incident, have been arrested in connection with the case so far. Another suspect was arrested on Saturday in connection with the Parliament security breach. Two people have now been arrested in connection with the incident.
