The Central Council for Secondary Education (CBSE) will probably soon announce the results of term 1 of classes 10, 12 board exams 2022. The board is also expected to release the detailed Term 2 datasheet around March 15. However, it has previously said that the second terms will begin on April 26. Once released, the CBSE results of term 1 will be available at cbse.nic.in. As more than 30 lakh students await the results of term 1, here is a look at the top five things that will be different in this year’s result:
Failed/Failed: The board has said that no student will be graded as failing or passing based on their first exams. The final result is determined on the basis of the scores of both periods, but also internal assessments and practicals. Those who would not be satisfied with their Term 1 scores will have another chance to improve their scores in Term 2 exams.

Change in the evaluation process: The board had previously asked the schools to check the answer sheets on the same day as the exams. However, halfway through the semester 1 exams, CBSE asked them to stop checking answer sheets the same day. Schools were asked to pack and seal OMR sheets in the presence of an observer within 15 minutes of the exam. After that, the observer had to sign and seal the package and send it to the regional official where it would be distributed for checking, picked up again to calculate the result.
Exam according to new criteria: This time, the board has changed the assessment criteria. According to the new criteria, the board has started with a two-term formula. Period 1 had multiple choice questions, meaning students had to choose and mark the correct answer from the four options. Meanwhile, the term 2-paper will be subjective and contain a mix of questions, from multiple-choice short-answer questions to long-answer questions. The overall syllabus has also been reduced by 30 percent.
Syllabus divided into 50 percent: The marks obtained in the exams of semester 1 count for at least 50 percent in the final result. Furthermore, internal ratings will also be included in the term 1 results.

No scorecards: The students do not receive the scorecards from the board after the exam of period 1. They only receive the final grades after the results of period 2. Students need at least 33 percent to pass the exams. Since the total number of points for the theory exam in the period 1 exam is 40, the grade is expected to be 13.
The delay in the results of period 1 may have been caused by several reasons, such as changes in the evaluation process and various errors in the questionnaires. The errors were noticed by students and teachers and there were reports of cheating on exams by some of the schools. However, there is no confirmation on this yet.
