Mumbai:
Indian-origin Canadian musician AP Dhillon performed at the Coachella festival, but as much as his music is celebrated, this time the singer-songwriter is receiving a lot of criticism on the internet after his performance.
On Monday, Dhillon took to his Instagram and shared a video of his performance. The video shows the 'Summer High' hitmaker breaking his guitar during his performance.
He wrote in the caption, “Brown Munde has left the dessert (sic)”.
In the video, his fellow singer Shinda Kahlon can also be seen performing on stage. He shared a guitar emoji in the comments section.
However, this act of AP Dhillon did not go down well with the netizens as they criticized him for what he did on stage. Internet users from India cited Indian values and said that while this is a part of rock culture where the guitarists smash their guitars on stage after the performance, Dhillon as an Indian doing something like this is completely inappropriate.
One user wrote: “Respect the things that got you to this stage. It's completely yours and your loss (sic).”
Another user wrote: “Ban gaya cool (have you become cool) (sic)?” A third user commented: “And you think this looked good (sic)?”.
