The Central Election Committee (CEC) meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was held at the party headquarters in Delhi on Thursday.
The meeting focused on discussing Lok Sabha election seats in around 17 states. During the meeting, decisions were taken on over 155 seats, details of which are expected to be released in a few days.
These are the five most important updates:
1. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP National President JP Nadda, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, General Secretary of the organization BL Santosh, as well as the Chief Ministers, State Presidents, officials, associates and election officials allegations from several states were present at the meeting. Chief ministers from Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Assam, Uttarakhand and Goa were also present at the meeting.

2. Besides, former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, BJP leader Prahlad Patel and BJP state president VD Sharma participated in the discussions. In particular, the selection of candidates for all 29 seats in Madhya Pradesh was deliberated on.

3. ANI citing sources, reported that the announcement of names of four to five candidates from Telangana could happen soon. .over, three current MPs G Kishan Reddy, Bandi Sanjay Kumar and Arvind Dharmapuri can also get tickets again. Discussions on selection of candidates took place during the meeting with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. .over, discussions on names of candidates were held with BJP leaders from Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Kerala, Gujarat, Jharkhand and Uttarakhand.
4. ANI reported that BJP sources said names of candidates from Assam were discussed during the meeting, in which all Lok Sabha seats were filled with leaders from Assam. Meanwhile, the BJP will contest on 11 seats there, and Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal could contest from Dibrugarh, while External Affairs Minister Rameshwar Teli could be sent to the Rajya Sabha.

5. Discussions on candidates for Jammu seats were also held during the meeting, while deliberations on Kashmir will be held in the next meeting. .over, during the meeting, discussions focused on two to three seats in Delhi, with plans for further discussions in subsequent rounds. While candidates for one seat in Goa have been confirmed, decisions are pending for another seat.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has introduced the slogan 'Crossing 400' for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The BJP's target is to secure more than 370 seats independently.
