Most working professionals looking for a new job spend hours perfecting their resumes and applications, from the language to the font used, demonstrating that one's credentials still need to work. To stand out, they prepare interesting and creative pitches that often attract the recruiter's attention. Recently, a man from Calcutta designed a rather quirky application for the position of copywriter at food delivery app Swiggy. Rohit Sethia prepared an eleven-page pitch in which he listed hilarious reasons why he is the perfect candidate for the job. He also tagged Devanshi Dhingra, assistant manager at Swiggy, in his post.
''Hi, Swiggy! Devanshi Dhingra. saw your message that you are hiring copywriters. here are some of the many reasons why you should consider me! Looking forward to hearing from you!'' he wrote on LinkedIn.
''Copywriter hungry for Swiggy! Hi Swiggy, I saw your post about hiring copywriters. Hungry for my skills? See my deck,” the first page read. He started the pitch by saying that he doesn't follow Zomato but later added that he now follows it for competition purposes. He further described himself as funny and an ambitious stand-up comedian who stays up to date with all internet trends.

The unique application has gone viral with more than 2,300 likes and over 200 comments since it was shared. LinkedIn users loved the creative ad and hoped he would get the job. One person wrote: 'Dude! Just perfect. Swiggy grabs it before Zomato comes into the picture.”
''Hahaha, that's on another level. Swiggy, you will have a hard time rejecting this man, not to mention the consequences,” another commented.
A third said: 'Creativity at its finest', while a fourth added: 'OMG. This was something crazy and impossible to laugh at and honestly what I learned from it is that you have to sell yourself before you can sell things to your customers.”
A fifth said, “It's really interesting brother Rohit Sethia. Swiggy knows how funny you are. Moreover, I would appreciate it if I could distinguish myself from hundreds of applicants. I hope most people will follow your lead after your post goes viral.”
His efforts paid off when his card game caught the attention of Mrs. Dhingra, who replied, “Someone knew how to stand out from hundreds of applicants.” We heard you Rohit and we will contact you. ''
